why? tango

amazed by apparent lack of self-reflection among many of the people dancing tango, we keep asking ourselves - 'why?' So we decided to make the questions public - the answers, we hope, will come in form of comments or maybe, we hope even more, in form of visible improvements on the dance floor

why are you asking me what I led?

Why Why? Tango?

Social dancing and fun. We believe that's what a milonga is meant to be. Social, that will mean a respect for your partner and your fellow dancers. It's an interpretive dance, no need for long, rehearsed sequences, well, no need for short ones either. It's not an exhibition, otherwise, we believe, it would be called a stage. There is no need for teaching, otherwise, we believe, it would be called a class.

Anyway, while the list opposite will, hopefully, stimulate self-reflection, it's also for a bit of fun. So if you have any comment, or indeed, other Why? questions please feel free to add comments and we'll add them to the list.

Learning to dance tango well is a continuous and enjoyable journey, don't try to arrive, enjoy the music, the embrace, the moment.
